Henk van der Pijl:

Physiotherapist and Manual therapist

Specialization

Henk van der Pijl is specialised in treating sportsmen as a manual therapist. Together with Karin Witte (physiotherapist and trainer) and Jaap Baks (sport doctor), they form the medical coaching team of LTA.

The World title and Olympic games

From 1994 up to / including 1998, he supported the Dutch male hockey team as a physiotherapist. Their greatest achievement was in 1998, when they became world champion in the city of Utrecht. During this period he was also involved in treating many Dutch top rowers, including "the Dutch eight", who attained gold at the Olympic games in 1996.

A Skilled and scientific approach

Through these experiences, he founded the practice for Physio Therapy and Sport Advice (FTSA) with Bart Schouten in 1999. It was a succes. Since then, many sporters have found their way to FTSA, because of the skilled and scientific approach concerning sport injuries and how to prevent them. There are currently 6 sport physiotherapists and manual therapists at work, all specialised in treating and coaching sportsmen.

Henk van der Pijl: "An important condition for optimal achievement is to make an end to ones limitations and inhibitions. Both physically as mentally."
